Many questions about the Camino are being asked. Here are some details.
Camino de Santiago
Here are some highlights of the trip:
- Departure: We will leave late Sunday, May 16, and return late Thursday, May 27.
- Accommodations: We will stay in 3- to 4-star hotels throughout the trip. Single accommodations are $575 extra.
- Luggage: Our luggage will be transported from one destination to the next, so we won't have to carry it while walking.
- Meals: The trip includes 10 breakfasts and 10 dinners.
- Tour Guide: A tour guide will accompany us throughout the trip.
Our JourneyUpon arrival, we will take a bus to Ávila, home of St. Teresa of Ávila, then continue to Salamanca, where we will spend the night. The following day, we will tour Salamanca before traveling to Sarria, our starting point for the Camino.
We will begin walking on Wednesday, May 19, covering up to 15 miles per day. On Monday, May 24, we will arrive in Santiago de Compostela. Since this is a Holy Year, we will have the special opportunity to enter the Cathedral of Santiago through the Holy Door!
After spending the night in Santiago, we will travel to Fátima, Portugal, where we will spend two nights. Before heading home, we will enjoy a brief city tour of Lisbon.
Cost and RegistrationFor a group of up to 24 people, the trip cost, excluding airfare, is
$1,967 per person.
We estimate airfare at about $1,000 per person. Once everyone has signed up, we can finalize the airfare costs.
That puts our estimated total trip cost at approximately
$3,000 per person.
If you plan to join us, please confirm by Wednesday, November 18th and submit your $500 deposit. This will allow us to finalize the arrangements. This promises to be a wonderful opportunity to experience the faith, history, and beauty of Spain and Portugal while walking the Camino together. And what a special blessing to celebrate our arrival in Santiago during a Holy Year!
