This is our only fundraiser to support our ministry which makes donations to charities and provides a scholarship for a St. Luke’s student.
We are asking people to sign up to bake and to work the two bake sale tables after all Masses.

Please help the Senior Adult Ministry with baking, it is our only fundraiser!
- Baked items can be dropped off before masses
- Please wrap and label items and indicate if there are nuts in it.
- Smaller portions of cookies & brownies work well.
- A baggie of 2, 4, 6 cookies is great.
- Things like pastries, breads, pies etc are always a hit.

Praying for the Sick at St. Luke’s
The Anointing of the Sick is a time for the parish community to surround with love and prayer all those who are sick, who may feel weakened in the face of advancing age, who are anticipating surgery, or who are confronted with a serious illness.
It is a tremendous source of comfort, strength, and peace for those who receive it, a reminder that no matter what happens in life or death, Jesus will be there beside us and the people we love.
Do you know someone who would benefit from the sacrament? The Anointing of the Sick could be scheduled after a 9:00am weekday morning Mass or after a 9:00am Sunday Mass.

Witness Talk by Kevin Egan, St. Luke Parishioner:
"My wife Anne and I have been an active part of St. Luke Parish for nearly 35 years. Like many of you, we have participated in numerous capacities and found our outreach to fellow parishioners to be very rewarding.
On Christmas Day 2024, I woke feeling poorly and, at my daughter’s insistence, I made a trip to the UMASS emergency department. Thirteen hours later, they closed my visit with a CT scan to rule out any final concerns, and instead identified a big one - my ascending aorta was a third larger than it should have been. In the weeks that followed, the diagnosis was ultimately confirmed and I was scheduled for open heart surgery in early March 2025.
Fortunately, we all live in proximity to world class surgeons and healthcare providers. Nevertheless, Anne & I needed additional assurance regarding the final outcome, so after mass I asked Fr Diego if he might bless me before my surgery. He said he could do even better, and gathered the St Luke ‘team’ after the March 9th Sunday mass. I was both impressed and a bit intimidated by the added attention, but gladly accepted this generosity. After mass, my wife and I entered the sacristy and were greeting by many friends, familiar faces, and some new faces. We were overwhelmed.
I had an overwhelming sense that I was not alone, and that I never was.
Through teary eyes and a cracking voice, I thanked everyone for showing up for me (us) and was then asked to be seated facing Fr. Diego. As I stared at the vessel of anointing oil, I realized how serious my situation was, but at the same time I had no anxiety or fear. Instead, I felt hands settle on my shoulders, and arms, and back, and head. As each hand was gently added, I had an overwhelming sense that I was not alone, and that I never was. I heard Fr. Diego’s blessing and felt the warmth of the oil being placed on my head chest and hands, but even more so, I felt the vibration of the hands resting upon me. While the many voices blended together in prayer, strangely I could hear every voice each saying different prayers. It was very intimate, genuine and blessed. When we concluded, I was moved beyond words and could only hug those present. God was with us.
Just prior to being sedated for my March 12 surgery, I told my surgical team that we hadn’t been praying for me, but that we prayed for their training and skills to be in peak form over the next 9 hours! I was discharged home just 3 days later and received communion (and a hug) from Fr. Diego on Sunday the 16th.
I now spend every mass looking around the congregation smiling at the many faces that God has worked through. I stop to acknowledge the many moments where God reminds me of his presence, and I thank him for this enlightened perspective. I am frequently reminded that we are all indebted to each other, and that we are called to participate in this world that has been gifted to us, even it's to simply smile more and invite others into our lives each day. In this past year I’ve seen my granddaughter baptized, my daughter married, my charitable outreach increase and my pickleball game excel (although beating Fr. Diego remains elusive). Thank you to my St. Luke family and thank God for his unending love."

St. Luke's community will participate in CRS Rice Bowl - connecting our prayers, fasting and almsgiving to encounter God through our global family. Each week, we’ll meet, pray for, and learn from families around the world who are rising above the challenges of hunger and malnutrition.

Mustard Seed

Cooks Needed!
St. Luke’s is serving dinner at the Mustard Seed on Friday, March 6th. We need volunteers to provide a batch of chicken, riced pilaf, cooked vegetables, soft fruit, and finger desserts to bring to Mustard Seed.
All food should be delivered hot to St. Luke's Parish Center parking lot between 3:30 and 4:00 on March 6th. (Look for Sean and his red CRV).

What is Mustard Seed?
The Mustard Seed Catholic Worker is a soup kitchen in Worcester rooted in the Catholic Worker tradition and inspired by Dorothy Day. The Mustard Seed serves a hot dinner seven days a week and is completely reliant on donations and volunteers. St. Luke's Parish is responsible for providing a meal to be served on the first Friday every other month.

Grades 8 to 12 are Catholic Heartwork Camp (CHWC), June 28th through July 4th. This is an opportunity to serve the community of Bowling Green, KY, while also growing in faith through meetings with teens from across the country. There is a link below to a talk Emily from St. Patrick's gives to the parish after her third trip with CHWC. In the video, Emily talks about YIA, the parish youth group that attends CHWC. To avoid confusion, when Emily discusses YIA, she is talking about her experiences at CHWC.
Grades 9 through 12 Steubenville Youth Conference July 16th through the 19th. This is a youth conference on the campus of Franciscan University in Ohio that brings thousands of teens together for a powerful weekend of faith talks and prayer experiences.

Grades 5 through 8 Catholic Youth in Action (CYIA), August 3rd to the 7th, is a summer day program for students to spend the morning in service to our community and in the afternoon have fun and faith experiences. The program runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The Faith in Action program invites students to participate in both “Faith” and “Action.” Students in grades 7 - 11 who enjoy baking are encouraged to take part in this Action opportunity by donating baked goods for a fundraiser supporting Senior Adults.

Request for Cooks!
Seeking cooks to provide a monthly meal for one of our parish families.
Cooks provide a meal once a month on Wednesday evening, rotating with three other people, thus allowing the family to receive a meal once a week. Those who have received meals in the past comment not only on how delicious and helpful the weekly meals are but also the relationships that often develop from just delivering the meal.

Sharing the Eucharist
Looking for a few generous hearts who have an openness to sharing the Eucharist. We have several homebound parishioners who would love to receive the Eucharist at their Westborough homes once or twice a month. Afternoons preferred but schedule can be flexible. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit and pray with someone who otherwise is unable to receive communion regularly. Training is provided.

Bibles-4-Kenya
St. Luke’s is partnering with parishes across the state to collect new or gently used Bibles. We can accept any Bible if they are complete and readable. So, check your closets and bookshelves; and perhaps you have an extra Bible or two that you could donate.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between local and international churches, coordinated through Bibles for Kenya in partnership with Christ Is the Answer Church in Billerica, MA. Thank you for prayerfully considering this opportunity to empty your shelves to fill the hands of believers in Kenya.

Today, February 11, we celebrate Our Lady’s appearance to a young peasant girl, Bernadette, in 1858 in Lourdes, France. Through a series of private revelations, Mary revealed herself as “the Immaculate Conception" and the site today receives many pilgrims who desire to be healed in the waters of Lourdes.
Pope John Paul II made three pilgrimages to Lourdes during his pontificate. He also proclaimed February 11 to be the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, as the World Day of the Sick.
A wonderful practice is to offer up a rosary for the people in your life who need healing.
