Reflect upon Jesus' teachings from the Gospel reading with Contemplation, Conversation, and Coffee. All are welcome! Grab a donut and coffee and attend a 50-minute gathering after 9:00 AM mass or before 11:00 AM mass to debrief and gain insight on the Sunday Gospel reading.

INTERNATIONAL POTLUCK DINNER

To celebrate the Feast of Pentecost, St Luke's Parish will be hosting our annual Potluck Dinner in the Parish Center on Saturday, May 18th, immediately following the 4PM Bilingual Mass. We invite all families to join us and ask you to bring a traditional dish from your culture.

This is always a great evening and a wonderful opportunity to meet other parishioners.

The Easter Season

May 5th will be the sixth Sunday of Easter

You won’t find Easter candy or decorations for sale at the supermarket much past Easter Sunday.

While the secular world moves on from bunnies and chocolate, the Church continues to celebrate Easter long after the final ham leftovers are eaten. The Easter season is the second-longest liturgical season. Only ordinary time is longer.

The Church celebrates the Easter season (also known as “Eastertide”) for 50 days, culminating with the feast of Pentecost, where Scripture (Acts 2:1–31) tells us that the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles.

Prepare for Pentecost Sunday!

Pray the Novena to the Holy Spirit starting on Ascension Thursday, May 10th, and concluding Saturday, May 18th.

WHY PRAY THIS NOVENA?

Following the Ascension of Our Lord, tradition says that the disciples gathered in the upper room together with, Mary, and spent nine days between our Lord’s Ascension into heaven and the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost in “constant prayer.” (Acts 1:12-14)

As disciples of Jesus, we too can join together in prayer for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our parish, our faith communities, our families, and in ourselves. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to be effective witnesses of love of God for our world.

Overnight Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

Monday, May 13, 8:00pm - Tuesday, May 14, 8:00am

Join us for Overnight Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament on Monday night, May 13th, leading into the morning of May 14th. The time between Ascension Thursday and Pentecost Sunday is a time to pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon our St. Luke's Parish, upon ourselves, and upon our families. What better way than to commit to a holy hour? We need adorers, especially during the early morning hours.

Blessed Mother Basket Raffle

This summer, a bus full of high school students and adult chaperones from around the Diocese will be attending the Steubenville Summer Youth Conference in Steubenville, OH! This conference is a transformative experience for all who attend.

However, the conference is not without cost. St. Bernadette Youth Ministry is sponsoring a fundraiser to help offset these costs. We are grateful for your generous support of our youth!

Basket includes a 30” tall resin statue of Mary and spring gardening supplies including a watering can, foam kneeler, trowel and cultivator, gardening gloves, hose nozzle, flower seeds and butterfly garden stake.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry is open to any person
interested in knitting or crocheting prayer shawls, lap robes or afghans for the sick and suffering. The ministry also makes hats and mittens for the Giving Tree at Christmas.

We would love to have new members since there are
many requests for the handmade items. Yarn is
available at the Parish Center.

Young Families at St. Luke's

St. Luke parish families with young children and recently baptized babies got together to enjoy a pancake breakfast. It was such a successful gathering that we want to do more to bring families of younger children together.

St. Luke's Nursing Home Ministry

To bring communion to our two Westborough nursing homes, we need 16 volunteers monthly. If you have a love of the Eucharist and enjoy being with people, we would love to train you to be an extraordinary minister of Holy Communion for our nursing home parishioners. Time commitment is once a month on a Monday morning from 9am until 12 noon.

St. Luke’s is serving at the Mustard Seed on Friday, May 3rd. We need volunteers to provide a batch of chicken, pilaf, vegetables, desserts, and fruit. See the Sign-Up below for details and to volunteer.

Also, the MS food pantry is in need of soup, pasta, pasta sauce, peanut butter, jelly, unsweetened cereal, and canned vegetables. The clothing pantry could use donations of sweatpants, sweatshirts, sneakers, and men's and women's socks. Those can also be dropped off on May 3rd in the parking lot. RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults or RCIA constitutes a path for one to learn more about the Catholic faith, and if sense a calling by God, to prepare for the Sacraments of Initiation into Christ’s pilgrim church. We are always happy to meet inquirers and invite inquirers to contact us anytime.
